Tour du Loir et Cher
The Tour du Loir et Cher is a renowned international cycling race in the professional cycling world and considered as a stepping stone race for young riders before they can confirm at the highest level. Thus, we find among the list of major stage winners of the Tour de France or classic races such as the Norwegian Thor Hushovd, winner in 1998 or the Belgian Philippe Gilbert, second in the 2002 edition.
Contested over 5 stages, the race starts from Blois and the riders then crisscross the Loir et Cher department. Generally, 25 teams line up at the start of the competition.
